Tomorow we celebrate Rosh Hashanah. Rosh Hashanah is a Jewish celebration of a New Year. At Rosh Hashanah we wish to all Shanah Tovah ve Metuka – Happy and Sweet New Year. Rosh Hashanah is a first of fall holidays, it begins on the first day of Tishrei, a first month of Hebrew calender. Tishrei holidays festival marking the beginning of the Hebrew year.
This holiday symbolize new beginnings and time of soul-searching. at Rosh Hashanah we look back on the past year and pray that the year ahead will be a good and peaceful.
On the first day of Rosh Hashanah Tashlikh ritual performed near natural flowing water and one’s sins are symbolically thrown into the water.
In Rosh Hashanah traditionally we listen to the shofar and eating apples dipped in honey – representing “sweet new year”.
